Kathleen Jackson Obituary

Kathleen Ann Jackson age 74, formerly of Colonia, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 at her residence. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Charlene Rust. Kathleen met her husband Francis at the age of 16 while working at the Woolworth's Department Store in Menlo Park, NJ. She retired from Woodbridge Developmental Center in Avenel, NJ where she dedicated 25 years of her life to helping people with special needs. Kathleen was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and a former member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Avenel, NJ. She enjoyed needlework, knitting, and crafting and enjoyed being surrounded by her nieces, nephews and her dogs. She was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Theresa O'Connell of Avenel, NJ. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Francis Jackson of Murrells Inlet; a sister, Marian Walsh of South Amboy, NJ; a brother, Donald Rust of Glen Gardner, NJ; sister-in-law, Ellen Thomsen of Flemington, NJ; brother-in-law, Joseph Jackson of Murrells Inlet, SC; sister-in-law, Patricia Jackson of Iselin, NJ; sister-in-law, Bernadette Desch of Iselin, NJ; brother-in-law, James Jackson of Barnegat, NJ and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Avenel, NJ at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of one's choice.
