John Greene Obituary
John Steven Greene, 73, of Prosperity, South Carolina joined the Lord on August 11, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 25, 1951, the son of late L.C Greene and Frances Phillips, in Newberry, South Carolina. He graduated from Gaffney High School in 1969. He was a hardworking man who built a 40 year career as a refrigeration engineer with Carolina Turkeys and Grifols. Furthering his career he started his own business, Ryloc Services, as a refrigeration consultant. He was a long standing member of First Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach, where he faithfully served and walked closely with the Lord. Johnny, as most people called him, was a man who truly loved life, especially when he was outdoors. Whether he was casting a line from his favorite fishing spot, out on the water in his boat, or on a new travel adventure, he found joy in the simplest pleasures of nature and exploration. He made his home on the lake- a place that brought him peace and countless memories with the people he loved most. A devoted friend and family man, Johnny was proud of his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and nothing made him happier than having them gathered at the lake house. Known for his sense of humor, his home was always filled with laughter and even on his final days, he kept everyone laughing. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his eldest son Christopher Greene, niece Tracy Jones, nephew Zack Foreman. John is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debroah Long Greene, three sons, Philip Brian Greene (Kaycie), Jonathan Alan Greene (Brittany), Troy Steven Greene (Misty), sister, Geraldine Greene Foreman (Ronnie), 11 grandchildren, Christa Grinnell (Brandon), Callie Greene, Steven Greene, Brandon Greene, Karmyn Greene, Ryker Greene, Locke Greene, Jacob Greene (Hariett), Emma Greene, Madison Greene, John Greene, 5 great grandchildren, Lucas Grinnell, Carson Grinnell, Kadan Grinnell, Parker Crabtree and Harrison Greene.
