Jessie Bousquet Obituary

Jessie Rowbottom Bousquet, beloved sister, aunt, friend, and caregiver, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 12, 2025, at Anderson Oaks Assisted Living in Conway, South Carolina. She was 84.
Born on July 4, 1942, in St. Anthony, Newfoundland, Canada, Jessie brought a spark of independence and compassion into the world that stayed with her throughout her life. After graduating from Grenfell School, she began her career in healthcare as a nurse's aide at Grenfell Hospital. Her journey eventually brought her to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where she made her home and continued her life of service.
From 1984 to 2011, Jessie worked as a dedicated medical assistant at Cardiology Gastroenterology Associates. Known for her warmth and kindness, she touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues. It was there she formed a close bond with Dr. Neil and Donna Trask, becoming an extended member of their family caring for their children, Ben and Rachel.
A woman of deep faith, Jessie was an active member of Myrtle Beach Community Church (now Beach Church) before joining Ocean View Baptist Church in 2001 alongside the Trasks. They were baptized together on Palm Sunday, a moment of profound spiritual joy. At Ocean View, Jessie's circle of love and friendship continued to grow. She became a cherished part of the Rankin family, caring for their children, Luke and Hollings.
Jessie is survived by her brother, George Rowbottom, and his wife, Naomi, of Springdale, Newfoundland; her sister, Margaret Rice, and husband Ronny, of Ohio; her great-niece, Taylor Rice of Ohio; and her great-nephew, Wyatt Rice of Florida. She also leaves behind many lifelong friends and the families she cared for and loved as her own.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 18, 2025, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home in Myrtle Beach.
A special recognition is owed to the staff at Anderson Oaks for their years of compassionate care for Jessie, and to Agape Hospice for their support and kindness in her final days.
