James Brown Obituary

James Donald Brown, 78, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 4, 2025 At his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Brown was born in Conway, SC, a son of the late James and Maxine Hyman Brown. He was owner and operator of Brown's Backhoe and Tank Service and as a young man he was an avid hunter. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Jamie B. Brown, who Died March 31, 1995 and by brothers, L.A. and Jackie Brown. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Cynthia S. Brown; daughter, Donna M. Blanton and her husband, John; two grandchildren, Bridgette N. Blanton and Wesley B. Blanton; nephews, Joey Brown and Lindsay Brown. Funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. Burial will follow in Brown Swamp Global Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 pm to 3 pm Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Horry County Memorial Library, 801 N. Main Street, Conway, SC 29526.
