Wissman, Jr. and Donald Wissman, Sr., his son-in-law Charles "Curtis" Harrell; several of his beloved aunts and uncles; and many dear friends from Giant Food - including Butch and Barbara Balderson, Jerry Sweeny, and Larry Angel - whose friendships brought him laughter, loyalty, and countless memories over the years.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Ruby "Nan" Brenton; his devoted children, Julie Harrell (Curtis) and James Michael Brenton, Jr. (Kathy); his cherished grandchildren, Holly Seabury (Will), Heather Owens (Josh), Madelyn Harrell, Jeremy Brenton (Alex), and Karlie Antezana (Jake); and his adored great, granddaughter, Aria Antezana - with another great, grandchild on the way, lovingly awaited by Jeremy and Alex.

Jim "Dad, Granddad, Mickey, Dad-dad" found joy in the simple things that made life full and meaningful. A lifelong Washington Redskins (Commanders) fan, he never missed a game - cheering, laughing, or shaking his head with that familiar smile everyone knew so well.
He loved working in the yard, taking pride in every flower and blade of grass, finding peace in the quiet rhythm of the outdoors. Some of his happiest moments were spent outside with his daughter, Julie, and his grandchildren - teaching them the beauty of nature and passing down his love for the outdoors, one garden day at a time.
Jim proudly dedicated 38 years of his life to Giant, where his strong work ethic, loyalty, and friendly spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His commitment to the company became a family legacy, one that he proudly passed on to his son, Michael, who recently retired after an incredible 40 years with Giant himself. Jim took great pride in watching Michael follow in his footsteps, carrying on the same values of hard work and dedication that defined his own career. It was a source of deep joy and fulfillment for Jim to see his son's accomplishments and the continuation of their shared legacy.
In his younger years, Jim was an avid golfer with a competitive streak and a smooth, confident swing. But perhaps his greatest passion was storytelling - the kind of stories that everyone had heard a dozen times yet never grew tired of. Each one ended in big laughter, shared smiles, and often a few happy tears - the kind of moments that reminded everyone just how much joy he brought into every room.
Above all, Jim was a family man. He married the love of his life, Ruby ("Nan"), on August 12, 1961, and together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Their marriage stood as a shining example of partnership and grace - a love story that spanned more than six decades.
Whether surrounded by family and friends or sitting quietly with Nan by his side, Jim's heart was always full. He taught us through his actions that the best parts of life are found in family, hard work, friends, and the everyday moments shared with the people you love most.
