Jacqueline Lanning Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of a beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, cousin and grandmother. On October 24, 2025, Jacqueline "Jackie" Marie Lanning, left our family unexpectedly. She was fortunate to have finally married the love of her life, Terry DeGrechie on October 11, 2025 prior to her passing.
Born on November 18, 1955 in Albany, NY to the late Dolores Irene Fox and John James Fox, she was a beautiful soul whose laughter and light filled every space she entered.
In addition to her husband, Terry of Murrells Inlet, SC she is survived by her daughter, Jessica Jenack and her husband, Edward of Harrisville, NY; two grandsons, Connor and Jackson Jenack; sisters, Mary Jo, Irene, and Betty; a brother John; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, the Lanning family; a large extended family and her beloved rescue cat Sassafrass, her sassy girl.
Jackie worked as an Automotive Service and Parts Manager for over forty years at Maltbie Chevrolet in Lake George, NY, Duffy's Garage in Warrensburg, NY and Adirondack Auto in Elizabethtown, NY before retiring in 2015. She then moved to Myrtle Beach, SC to be closer to her family.
She was an avid gardener, known for her beautiful flower beds and raised vegetable gardens. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and loved to decorate her home with her vast collection of Santa Clauses. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and the outdoors. Jackie had a magnetic personality that was wild, funny, generous, and full of life. She brought just the right amount of outrageous energy to every gathering. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends and we will forever cherish her memory.
Per her request there will be no formal services. Those who wish may make a memorial donation in her name to All4Paws, All4PawsSC.org in Myrtle Beach, SC as a tribute to her passion for loving and rescuing animals.
