Herbert Skinner Obituary
at Conway Medical Center after battling three cancer diagnosis in the past year and a half.
He underwent chemotherapy and radiation twice and a massive surgery in Charleston in January of
this year. He was truly a strong person until his body became too tired to endure.
June was born in Norfolk, Va., a son of the late Herbert McKinley Skinner, Sr., and late
Sherlden Ann Tucker Skinner. He was owner and operator of SCS Cleaning Service LLC. He
was an avid bowler and a fan of "America's Team" the Dallas Cowboys. He was a faithful
member of Beulah Worship Center. He was truly loved by many and was always the life of the
party. He truly missed his calling; he should have been a comedian. He was a star athlete in
high school in track and football and also attended Hampton University on a full football
scholarship; the team just recently received the Hampton University 2025 Team of Distinction
Award for the 1985 CIAA Champions.
Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 21 years, Nicole Skinner; two daughters,
Joy Samara Skinner and Janiya Sheryl Skinner; two brothers, Darryl Skinner and his
wife, Arlene and Kevin Skinner and his wife, Silina.
The family will receive friends from 5 -7 pm Friday evening, November 14, 2025 at
Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.
A church handled memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 15,
2025 at Beulah Worship Center.

My condolences to the family. June Poon´s wife, children, Darryl and Kevin. I have spoken to you all in years, but when I heard about June Poon I was truly surprised. It is hard to accept that our friends we have known from the old neighborhoods Bayside Arms and Aragona are going on. But always remember they are absent from the body but the spirit is in a better place with our Lord in Savior, without in pain, as I am told you ran an outstanding race as you always did and still a superstar as usual, I celebrate life for you on the other side and I congratulate you on the class of 1985 CIAA track recipient from Hampton University of 2025. I am so sorry to hear about my friend he always kept a smile on my face and a laugh coming from me. He was truly one of the most sincere people that God made. Rest in peace my friend.

Herbert a.k.a June Poon was always the jokester & clowning around. He kept a smile on his face. He was an exceptional athlete and a all out genuine human being. My prayers are with your wife & children. R.I. P my cousin

My condolences to the family and may God bless them in these days and time, I express my deepest sympathy and strength be with loved ones of such a great person who I admired and a fellow track athlete although from a different school. But he definitely will be missed we spoke on a couple occasions via social media etc etc and again my condolences
