Genese Martin Obituary

Conway Genese Martin, age 88, passed away Friday, October 10, 2025 at her home. Mrs. Martin was born in Horry County, a daughter of the late Charlie and Oleta Boyd. She retired from AVX Corporation after 44 years of service. She enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her family. Mrs. Martin will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, Granny, and sister. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martin is predeceased by her daughter, Penny Roberts and two brothers, Buddy Boyd and Mike Boyd. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Harvey B. Martin, Jr. of Conway; one son, Terry Martin of Conway; three grandchildren, Deana Singleton, Sarah Martin, and Hunter Martin all of Conway; three great grandchildren, Chasidy Singleton, Emily Singleton, and Jesse Singleton; one great-great grandchild, Kyson Long; two brothers, Kenny Boyd (Mary) of Aynor and Tim Boyd (Nancy) of Greenville; and two sisters, Eugonda Shelley of Conway and Sandra Yvonne Russell of Moncks Corner. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Stevens Cemetery with Rev. David Watts officiating.
