Erma Lane Obituary
Erma Lane, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 79 on August 31, 2025.
To know Erma was to love her dearly. With a beautiful smile and great, big brown eyes that lit up every room, she left a mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
She was the strength of our family-the one we leaned on, the voice of reason in every circumstance. Fiercely strong willed, yet full of grace, she led with wisdom and by example, teaching us that life's challenges are best met with resilience.
Over the years, Erma wore many hats and wore them all well. She was a respected Realtor in Charlotte, NC, with a true gift for helping people find their place in the world. She also thrived as a Mortgage Loan Officer. In every professional role, she brought integrity, care and excellence.
But her greatest roles were closer to home. As a devoted mother who led by strength, tenderness and unwavering support. As a loving Nonnie, she poured her heart into her grandchildren, creating a bond rooted in warmth, laughter and lifelong memories. And to so many, she was a kind of best friend everyone hoped to have. Someone who loved a good time, cherished long chitchats, and always brought fun, laughter, and great conversation wherever she went. Her presence made ordinary moments feel special and her joy was contagious.
She offered the kind of advice that stayed with you-wise, honest, and often exactly what you needed to hear, especially when it came to relationships, friendships, life or those big decisions that shaped everything. You could count on her to tell it like it is, always with heart, humor, and a lot of thought that went into it. When she saw you were on the right path, Erma became your loudest cheerleader offering her full support, her proud heart, and the kind of encouragement that made you believe in yourself even more.
We will remember her laughter, her wisdom, her quick wit that was always delivered with a generous dose of humor and love. With her stunning features and flawless style, she turned heads wherever she went but her true beauty was how deeply she cared for herself and others. She believed in showing up for people and showing up well dressed too.
We will carry the weight of her absence for a lifetime. We weren't ready to let her go-and truthfully, we never would have been. She was, and always will be, the heart and soul of our family.
She leaves behind her Son, John Mark Lane II (wife, Heather Lane), Daughter, Erica Lane, along with her three Grandchildren, Skylar Eanes, Eli Lane, and Sam Lane who will continue her legacy of love and strength.
Please join Erma's family to celebrate her life.
