Elizabeth Gore Little
Myrtle Beach - Elizabeth Gore Little - known warmly as Liz, Libs, Libby, Mom, and Nana - died quietly on February 20th, 2026, at eighty-one years old. She left the way she lived: no drama, just a gentle goodbye after a life full of chatter and sun.
Born in Conway, South Carolina, Elizabeth spent most of her years in Myrtle Beach - right where the ocean met her front door. She grew up with four siblings - Jo Ann, John, Buddy, and Billy Wayne.
She married Bill Little in nineteen sixty-nine; he was tall, quiet, and patient enough to outlast her talking. They built a wonderful life together in Myrtle Beach, raising two boys - Mark and David - in a house that always had extra chairs and an open door. Later came daughter-in-law Mandy Eskew Little (David's wife) and Shelly Little (Mark's), five grandchildren-Hampton, Campbell, Audrey, Blake, and Charlotte-and a yard that bloomed like it was showing off.
Elizabeth loved gardening the way some people love gossip: hands dirty, heart open. She tended her fish pond like it was a secret club. She was always flawlessly put together - stylish and current while never paying full price. She chased down deals like hidden treasures, transforming every find into a small triumph. She turned every family trip into a story worth retelling. She lit up rooms without trying - never met a stranger, never let one leave hungry. She talked fast, laughed often, and invited people over like it was her job.
She didn't fuss about endings. Just made sure the fridge was stocked, the porch light was on, and we all knew she loved us.
We'll miss her most when the azaleas are in full bloom, when the yard wakes up in pinks and whites-like she's still out there smiling, pulling weeds, making everything beautiful again.
