E. Eileen "Mama" Batts
December 22, 1941 – July 10, 2025
E. Eileen "Mama" Batts, age 83, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on July 10, 2025.
Born December 22, 1941, in Lima, Ohio, Eileen was the beloved daughter of the late Naomi and William Lionel Austin Sr. She graduated from Tri-C University with a degree in Business
Administration, completed a Toastmasters public speaking course, where she developed strong communication and leadership skills, and later taught others the importance of clear, confident
public speaking. She built a long and respected career at Parker Hannifin, where she began in the accounting department before advancing to a role as a Buyer, supporting various programs in the purchasing of manufacturing assembly products and materials. Her professionalism and dedication where evident throughout her more than 30 years with the company. In addition to her
corporate responsibilities, Eileen also volunteered her time with Junior Achievement, mentoring young people in leadership and business skills.
Eileen was known by many as "Mama," a title that reflected her nurturing spirit and deep love for her family. She found great joy in being a grandmother and was fiercely devoted to her loved
ones. Her heart overflowed with kindness, and her presence brought warmth and encouragement to all who knew her.
A passionate collector and lifelong NASCAR enthusiast, Eileen built an extraordinary collection of over 6,000 race cars and trucks. She loved attending races at the Kentucky Derby, Horse races
and sharing those passions with Da'Ron. Her hobbies also included collecting teapots, candlesticks, and elephants, as well as creating beautiful hand-blown glass vases-each one a
reflection of her vibrant personality and creativity. Christmas held a special place in her heart. Every year, she transformed her home into a dazzling
holiday wonderland, spreading cheer to her family and friends through lights, and decorations. Eileen was a woman of deep faith and commitment. As a dedicated member of Imani Temple,
she served faithfully in the youth choir and ministry, shaping and inspiring countless young lives through her guidance and unwavering belief in their potential.
She is survived by her loving son, Darrel L. Stewart (Barbara); grandson/son, Da'Ron Stewart; grandson, Brandon Stewart; granddaughter, Tierra Hayes; her dear brother, William Austin
(Paulette); her treasured nephew, Lionel Ridnenour (Kena); and special family member, Leslie Brown-Vincent. She will also be fondly remembered by her lifelong best friends, Madelyn
Sanders and Laura Griff, as well as her many beloved friends at Imani Temple.
A private family memorial service will be held on July 31, 2025.
