Diane Gillespie Obituary

Diane C Richmond Gillespie, 59, passed away with peace and grace on February 28, 2026 after a long battle with breast cancer. She leaves her humans and beloved animals forever longing for her loving hugs.

She is survived by her two sons Lucas Michael (24) and Rudy Edward (22) who were the pride and joy of Diane's life. She will be missed by her mother, Carol Richmond and surviving siblings Donna L. Richmond of Las Cruces, NM and Dorothy Jeker of Kresgeville, PA. She will be remembered fondly by her 16 nieces, 9 nephews, 18 grandnieces and 13 grandnephews. Diane was predeceased in death8 by her father, Thomas A. Richmond, her husband, Edward Francis Gillespie, her partner Anthony Kevin Gillespie, and her brother David Allen Richmond.

Diane was born in Middletown, NY, the youngest of Carol and Tom's four children. She attended Middletown High School, NY and the College of the Canyons, CA.

Diane had an incredible work ethic, starting with first job in media, where she and her husband Ed and sister Donna worked from 1989 through 1993. Together they were team leaders at TMT Media Corp., in Los Angeles, CA, an advertising and direct marketing company. In all of Diane's work history, she was a team player who came to the job with a cheerful attitude no matter how challenging the workload.

Life led Diane to the Washington DC area where she worked from home in the media business and at Aldersgate Church in Alexandria, VA.

Diane enjoyed crafting, walking her dog, Callie, and catching up with friends. Most of all, Diane loved her family, and we will always hold her love for us in our hearts.
