Clara Humphrey Obituary
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Clara Humphrey, (née: Cosentino) who left this world peacefully at home on August 9th 2025, surrounded by comfort and peace from her devoted son Thomas and daughter-in-law Luciana of whom provided care with love for her throughout her final years.
Born on October 12th, 1934, in Paterson, NJ, Clara lived a long, rich, and meaningful life. She made her home in Lincoln Park and later Riverdale, NJ. She made her final chapter in Myrtle Beach, SC, where she enjoyed the warm weather, taking in the peaceful moments and going to breakfast at her favorite spot, Blueberry's.
Clara was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She is survived by son, Thomas and his family & son, Ronald and his family.
In her working years, Clara was a hardworking and dedicated Account Executive at A&P until her retirement.
In her older years, Clara remained remarkably independent. She was always on the go, full of energy and rarely sat down for long. Throughout her life, she enjoyed being a member of the Elk's Club and the Italian Heritage Organization, attending dinners, dances, and gatherings with her many friends.
She loved life's joys: traveling the world, cooking for her family (especially Sunday gravy with macaroni, fried meatballs and her famous brownies), shopping, watching her favorite shows as well as Lifetime and Hallmark movies, going to the casino, playing poker and 500 Rummy (where she would often win).
Clara's home was always warm and comforting. She welcomed everyone with open arms, a cup of coffee & something to eat (whether you were hungry or not of course).
To know Clara was to love her. Her selflessness was unwavering, her laughter and wittiness were infectious and her love for those close to her, endless.
She leaves behind a legacy of truth, honesty and strength. While she may be gone from our sight, we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her recently departed, Anthony, of 42 years, where he is singing to her yet again.
Your light will live on and your laughter will echo in our hearts forever.
Rest peacefully, Gram.

SPECIAL MESSAGES:
Gram, you were my hero and my safe place. I'll treasure all our memories together, from our card games and countless sleepovers watching Lifetime movies to the quiet moments when we simply held hands and talked. I'll always remember your hugs, your laughter, and the way you showed up for every big moment in my life. I'm grateful Vivian and Jaxon knew their Nana and shared in our traditions. We love you so much. I miss you deeply already, and you are forever in my heart. Rest peacefully, knowing we'll be okay and carry your love with us always.
Love,
Jaclyn

Gram, although you came into my life later on when I was around 14 years old, you quickly became a second home to me. I remember sleeping over almost every night for about a year straight. The pancakes every morning before school, our nightly routine of Criminal Minds, Americas Got Talent, and of course The Godfather, Tony's favorite, are memories I'll always cherish. I already miss all your snarky jokes and quick comebacks. You had such a strong heart, and resilient soul, a true warrior. Our love will forever remain in our best-kept memories. I am so glad I got to experience the honor of being your granddaughter. I love you forever.
With love,
Kat
___________
Nearly half of my life was spent living with you, learning lessons that helped shape who I am. A true class act, you showed me the difference between right and wrong not through speeches, but through the quiet way you handled life, with grace and strength.
The accountant in you taught me to respect and manage the dollar. Though, you also taught me how to gamble with a level head & great poker face. You were fiercely independent, never depending on anyone or anything. Honest, trustworthy and deeply loyal. No matter the circumstance, you remained unapologetically wise when it came time to seeing things for what they were and in those times, your silence spoke volumes.
We were best friends. I called you everyday, oftentimes more than once, no matter where in the world I was. You'd also call to ask how we were doing, to check on the kids and Sasha, to see what Saneddie was making or what we had eaten, to check on the progress of the garden, or just to let me know I must have worked late because my call was a minute past due.
Your wit was sharp, your humor sarcastic in the best way and above all, your love was unmatched.
Anyone who knows me, knows the unbreakable bond we shared. I am aware of how blessed I was to be so present in your life. You stayed steady, headstrong and true to yourself, never letting the noise of insignificance disturb your peace no matter how difficult the situation.
The world was lucky to have you. I was luckier. The amount of moments I shared with you are infinite and unrivaled, for that I will forever be grateful.
Until we meet again, I will carry you with me.
In my heart, in my choices and in the life I built with you as my biggest cheerleader.
I love you, Gram.
