Benito Muto Obituary

Benito "Benny" Muto, age 66, passed away Sunday August 24, 2025, at the Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Benito was born April 22, 1959, in Cutro Italy, to the late Luigi and Rosa (Catanzariti) Muto. Left behind to cherish Benny's Memory is his loving wife Lisa Muto of Surfside Beach, Daughter Rosetta Muto of Surfside Beach, son Joseph Muto of Surfside Beach, his brothers Geatano Muto (Maria) of Italy, and Silvio (Pina) Muto of New Jersey, sisters Gilda (Gino) Mesoraca of Italy, and Rosalba (Pino) Sanfalice of Italy, and brother in law Dale Sorto of New Jersey and many beloved nieces and nephews. Benny came to America as a young man, quickly becoming a proud citizen in 1982. He owned his first Pizzeria at the age of 18 and has had many others through the years in New York, and New Jersey. In 2012, he came to Surfside Beach, South Carolina where he opened the Surfide Beach Pizza restaurant. He has worked tirelessly there for the last 15 years, until he lost his 2-year battle with Glioblastoma. Benny loved spending time at the beach and being a loving grandfather to Luca and Luciana. The family would like to thank all of the loyal customers of Surfside Pizza who have enjoyed and supported them through the years.
