Anthony Rozzo Obituary
It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Anthony 'Tony', who left this world peacefully at home, surrounded by love and comfort from his dearest Clara of 42 years and beloved stepson, Thomas, and step-daughter-in-law, Luciana, of whom were his primary care takers in his final years.
Born in 1937, he lived a rich and meaningful life, full of laughter, devotion, and warmth. Over the years, he made homes in Florida and North Carolina before settling in New Jersey, where he spent many cherished years with his darling Clara in Paterson, Lincoln Park and later in Riverdale. His final chapter was written in Myrtle Beach, a place of peace and reflection where he loved sitting outside and enjoying the beautiful weather and going to his favorite spot, Blueberry's, for breakfast.
A proud Italian-American, he was a devoted member of the Elk's Club & Italian Heritage Organization. He carried his roots with pride and was always ready with a story, a smile, or a toast. He would often be found watching repeats of his favorite show, The Sopranos, and his favorite Godfather movie (#2 of course). He dedicated many years to hardworking service at Sears as well as being the head custodian of a school system, where his dedication and care touched generations of students and staff.
He loved life's simple joys: Traveling, drinking coffee, playing cards at home, playing poker and tables games in Las Vegas & Atlantic City, cheering on his beloved San Francisco 49ers and New York Yankees with a beer in hand, collecting coins and spending quiet mornings with his dearest Clara, often waking up singing just for her - a daily reminder of his gentle, loving soul.
To know him was to love him. His kindness was unmatched, his patience unshakable, and his presence always brought a sense of peace. He welcomed everyone with open arms, and was 'Pop' or 'Uncle Tony' to many, especially to his granddaughters, Roni Anne, Jaclyn and Kathleen along with their families - as well as those from his wife's family, with whom he shared holidays, laughs, and memories over the years especially his favorite nephew, Michael along with his wife and children. He is also survived by his 2 daughters, Kathy and Lisa and their children, Anthony, Billy and Julia.
He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, love, and strength. While he may be gone from our sight, he will never be gone from our hearts. His memory will be cherished always by all those fortunate enough to have been part of his journey.
Rest peacefully, Pop. Your song lives on in all of us.
