Allen Hawkinson Obituary

Allen Gustav Hawkinson, 88, passed away peacefully Sunday September 14, 2025, at his home in Pawleys Island surrounded by his loving family. Born in Chicago, IL, Allen was the son of the late Gustav and Hilda Hawkinson. A 16-year volunteer at Brookgreen Gardens, Allen was an avid reader and wine enthusiast who enjoyed sailing, traveling, skiing, art, jazz music, gourmet cooking and loved beach picnics. In addition to his parents, Allen is preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly Hawkinson. Survivors include his loving wife, Elaine Hawkinson of Pawleys Island; sons, Paul Hawkinson and his wife Sheila of Indian Springs, OH; Mark Hawkinson and his wife Tara of Pawleys Island, SC; granddaughters, Mary Grace Hawkinson and Katie Hawkinson of Indian Springs, OH; Sarah Hawkinson of Pawleys Island, SC. A Celebration of Allen's Life will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday September 20, 2025, at The Abbey Church, Litchfield Plantation.
