Barbara Jones Zunino Obituary

Barbara Helen Jones Zunino
1936 -2021
Barbara was born in Daly City, California and moved to Albion when she was 10 years old. She often told the story that she loved being on the ridge and that she didn't wear shoes for the first summer of living there.
She met her high school sweetheart, Bob Zunino in the 7th grade and they married out of high school and began their family.
Barbara worked side by side with her husband designing, decorating and doing whatever was needed in the construction of the many spec. homes that they built on the Mendocino coast.
She was an avid collector of art, both locally and from her travels. She loved to entertain alongside her husband, usually giving big Italian dinner parties. Her family began traveling when her oldest child John, moved to Italy in the mid 70's, which prompted her passion for travel, taking her to many countries in Europe, Asia and North America
She was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She kept her house impeccable. She sewed, (she loved fashion), cooked, made 3 meals a day, mowed grass and chopped wood. There was always a big roaring fire in the fireplace and in the wood cook stove, which she cooked on during winter months.
She was very social and gregarious with an exceedingly booming laugh.
Her friends and family described her as: Fun, giving, strong, a good listener, selfless, loving, kind and classy. She was fiercely devoted to her family. She had a positive attitude and always saw the sunny side of life.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob) Zunino; her parents, mother, Helen O Shanas Jones, father, Ralph Melvin Jones; her brothers, Ralph (Skip) Jones, Robert (Bob) Jones and her granddaughter, Brianna Zunino Denison and her niece Reatha (Tink) Seymour Thran.
She is survived by her children, John Zunino and Bridgette Zunino; her grandchildren, Ashley Zunino and Brighton Denison; great grandson Bradley Denison and her sister in law, Brenda Berman Jones and her beloved nieces and nephews.
