Tina Brady Obituary

Tina Renee Griffin was born in Greenville, South Carolina on May 28, 1961, the daughter of Frank Grant Griffin of Danville, Kentucky, and Bobbie Jean Hendricks of Pickens, South Carolina. Her father worked in sales for a building materials distributor, and her mother worked as a homemaker and as the department head of the medical records department of the Easley Baptist Medical Center. Her parents met during her father's assignment to Donaldson Air Force Base during the Korean War. She graduated from Riverside High School in Greenville in 1979, and attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina, graduating with a Business degree in 1984. In 1989 she relocated to Northern Virginia, where she worked in various business positions, most recently as a government contractor, working as a budget and contract analyst for the Federal Aviation Administration in support of federal aviation radar programs for over 25 years. Tina was baptized as a member of Taylors Baptist in Taylors, South Carolina. During college she attended First Baptist in Columbia, and after her move to Northern Virginia, she attended McLean Presbyterian, McLean Bible Church, and finally Alexandria Presbyterian Church (APC) where she was an active member for over 25 years. She met her husband, Kevin Brady while attending APC and they married in 2009. After their retirement in 2024, they moved to Summerville, South Carolina where they joined Hope Community Church. From early childhood, Tina always had a smile on her face and enjoyed being around others. She had a wide circle of friends who benefited from her love and devotion. Tina always looked forward to time with her extended family including her sister Angie, cousins, aunts and uncles, whether it was getting together at Christmas or enjoying time on the lake or at the beach, but she had a special love for her niece Lindsey and nephews Rich, Will and Jonathan of whom she was very proud. She was a wonderful friend to her husband and devoted Proverbs 31 wife. Tina enjoyed working with stained glass and sewing, and at one point she was an avid needle pointer. She was always willing to try something new. Whether it was kayaking (no gators please !), skiing, taking a history walk through Mount Vernon or Civil War battlefields in Virginia, Navy football, traveling to new places or "walking a race" with Beverly, she was always ready to go. Tina is survived by her husband of over 15 years, Kevin Brady, her sister Angie and husband Richard Armstrong, her niece Lindsey and Nathan Farmer, nephews Rich and Cyndi Armstrong, Will and Alicia Armstrong, and Jonathan and Olivia Armstrong. She will also be missed by a host of cousins and extended family, loving friends, and fellow children of God. Tina and Kevin were our neighbors and close friends in Crest of Alexandria. We shared many happy memories with them at our home and at functions in the community. Our prayers go out to Kevin and their family for their sudden loss.
