Thomas Sandefur Obituary

Thomas G. Sandefur, 61,(Tom) of Summerville died Saturday, September 6, 2025. He was born March 19, 1964 in Charleston, SC, son of Charles W. Sandefur, Sr. And Carolyn Carr Sandefur. Tom passed away at Summerville Medical from heart failure surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles W. Sandefur, Jr. (Billy). He is survived by his daughter, Britney R. Sandefur, brother, John Sandefur (Carol), sisters, Jan Mackinem (Tim) and Laura Morga (late Ronald Morga). He had three grandsons, Landon, Kolton & Trenton Noble and many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunt and uncle.

Tom was a pipefitter at the Charleston Naval Shipyard (Shop 56) until closure and continued in the construction field with HVAC, Electrical and piping experience.

Tom was an avid Gamecock fan and you rarely saw him without his Gamecock hat and usually a shirt that matched. He loved Nascar and going to the races. He enjoyed playing pool and shooting darts.

We would like to give a special thanks to Summerville Medical and Agape Hospice Care for the passionate care given to Tom to help him transition with dignity and without pain.

He will be sorely missed by his family and friends and his daughter, Britney who was always Daddy's little girl.
