Sonja Gray Obituary

Sonja Gayle Robinson Gray, 70, of Moncks Corner, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025. She was born in Winnsboro, SC, on February 8, 1955. She had been suffering from metastatic cancer. Sonja deeply loved her family and friends. Though she was never able to have children, she was like a second mother to her nieces and nephews, claiming them as her own. She cared for her dogs as if they were her children. Her heart was always uplifted by the sounds of country and gospel music. She had a beautiful voice and cherished the moments she spent singing at church and at home. She was a great cook, and her homemade biscuits were simply the best. Life gave her many struggles to overcome. Sonja is survived by her sister, Marcia Hattel of Alvin SC, her brother, David Robinson of Clinton SC, along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Freddie Gray of Clinton SC, her mother, Georgetta Gibert Robinson of Clinton SC, her father, Marion Edward Robinson of Winnsboro SC and her great-nephew, Dylan Aaron Womack.
