Gary R. Younken, 78 of Middletown, beloved husband of Dottie (Serra) Younken, died Friday, April 18, 2025, at Middlesex Hospital.
Gary was born in Middletown, son of the late Charles and Agnes (White) Younken. Prior to his retirement, Gary was employed as a truck driver with Batesville. He was a veteran US Air Force serving during the Vietnam war.
Besides his wife, Gary is survived by his son Gary Shumbo and his wife Kacey.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at the convenience of the family at the Connecticut State Veterans’ Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Humane Society, (cthumane.org) or Alzheimer’s Organization (alz.org), in memory of Gary Younken.

Dottie, I am so sorry about Gary. I just happened to see his obituary today 6/3.
