Patti Barrickman Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patti S. Barrickman, who left us peacefully on June 27, 2025, in Summerville, South Carolina, surrounded by her loving family.
Patti was born on July 19, 1938, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, daughter of the late Stephen and Vivian Feiler. She was a proud graduate of the University of Bridgeport and lived a life marked by devotion to family, a strong work ethic, and a generous, compassionate heart.
In her earlier years, Patti was actively involved in her community and served as the head of the Welcome Committee at Horseshoe Bend Country Club. Her warm personality, friendly nature, and genuine love for connecting with others made her a natural in that role. She later enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with Wachovia Bank, where she was admired for her professionalism, dedication, and integrity.
She loved playing golf and bowling, especially when she could celebrate a good game with family or friends. She also enjoyed cooking and hosting get-togethers, always making sure everyone felt at home. Some of her favorite memories were made at her home on the lake in McCormick, South Carolina.
Beyond her hobbies, Patti had a deep affection for animals, perhaps even more than for people! Her home was a sanctuary for pets, reflecting her nurturing soul and the compassion she extended to all living creatures.
Above all, Patti was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, always offering unconditional love, encouragement, and wisdom.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John R. Schuck, father of her daughters Jennifer and Amy; her late husband, Ira Gordon Barrickman, with whom she later shared many happy years; her daughter, Amy Williams; and her sister, Betty Feiler.
Patti is survived by her children, Jennifer Thorn (Mark), David Neverton, Donna Gilbert (John), Pamela Yates (Stephen) and her two stepchildren Scott Schuck (Carrie) and Karen Schuck. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, extended family members, and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Simplicity, 281 Treeland Drive, Ladson, SC 29456, where family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Patti's life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Patti's memory to any of the following organizations:
• The ARK of SC – 502 W 5th N Street, Summerville, SC 29483
• Dorchester Paws – 136 4 Paws Lane, Summerville, SC 29486
Patti's gentle presence, beautiful smile, and unwavering love will be deeply missed. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and grace lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her light continues to shine in each of us, and her memory will forever be a blessing.
