Myrtie Benford Obituary

Myrtie Louise Benford of Summerville passed away peacefully at home at the age of 93 on Monday, October 13, 2025. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Foxy & Ruth, brother Hoyt, beloved daughter Melodie and precious grandson Micah. She is survived by her devoted family: her husband of almost 71 years, Marvin Benford Sr, their children, Deborah Swails and Marvin Benford Jr., sons-in-law, David Swails and Corky Hart, eight grandchildren (Davie, Joe, Elizabeth, Jon, Sam, Marvie, Zach, and Abbie), 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as an army of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and dear friends. She was a devout member of the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, a lover of the Bible, music, birds, the beach, and of course, her family. They would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, home-health workers and visitors that aided in her care these last several years. In harmony with Myrtie's wishes, there will be no service, but the family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
