Michael Gartner Obituary

Michael Henry Gartner, Sr., 68, of Summerville, SC, loving husband of Nancy Ann Miller Gartner, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2021.

Funeral Services were Monday afternoon, October 25, 2021 at 2 o'clock in Parks Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment followed in Summerville Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation was Sunday evening from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock in the funeral home parlor. Pallbearers serving were Jeff Barnes, Dennis Parker, Orlando Domenech, Michael Wilson, Tony Alvarado, and Peter Moore.

Michael was born February 24, 1953 in Meadville, PA, a son of the late Michael Carroll Gartner and Grace Elizabeth Rhoades Thompson. He worked as an accountant and loved gardening and traveling. Michael had a special place in his heart for dachshund rescue.

In addition to his wife, Nancy Gartner of Summerville, SC, he leaves behind his sons, Michael Henry Gartner, Jr. (Allison) and Christopher Lee Gartner (Ambermay), both of Summerville, SC; his brother, Richard Lee Thompson, also of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Christopher Lee Gartner and Jasmine Lynn Gartner, both of Summerville, SC; and his beloved dachshund puppies, Dilbert, Abbott, Tinkerbell, Lakes Cruser, and Abigale. In addition to his parents, Michael is predeceased by his son, David Bradley Gartner and his stepfather, Frank Harold Thompson.
