Mary Ferguson Obituary
In God's perfect time, Mary Anne Gray Ferguson, 66, of Cross, South Carolina, went to be with her Savior on Saturday September 20, 2025, with her loving husband by her side.
Mary Anne was known for her passionate desire to give to others. She especially loved giving things she had spent hours creating by hand and always made it a point to create something unique for the person she was giving it to.
Mary Anne was also known for her deep love of flowers and plants and loved to decorate. She started working part time at the age of 13 as a water girl in her uncle Marion's grocery store watering plants. From there she advanced to arranging flowers, decorating for parties and doing weddings. She loved nature and being outdoors. She loved all walks of life and never turned her back on a stray or homeless animal in need. She always said she was at her happiest when she was digging in the dirt or when she was giving of herself. Mary Anne was a Capricorn and a workaholic. She loved working.
Her oldest brother, Bobby, who lived in Hawaii, inspired her to seek out the Lord. When Bobby was on his death bed, she went to Hawaii to visit him in the hospital and told him she wanted to commit her life to GOD. It was then and there she decided to accept Christ and be baptized. She loved GOD the FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT with all of her being. She felt she had a good personal relationship with the Lord but always continued to work at making it an even deeper one.
Later in life she found herself unemployed, atthe same time as her best friend Ginger. So together they prayed, and because of their deep love for GOD, they decided to open a Florist called, "GOD'S CREATIONS - Flowers, Heaven Scent".
Mary Anne deeply loved her husband, Wade, and thanked GOD for bestowing her with the most precious gift of bringing Wade into her life! Wade was such a blessing to her, and she remained forever grateful!
Some of her most special moments with Wade were when he would sit down with her and engage in deep conversations about the Lord. It delighted her so much and gave her a sense of joy and peace. The conversations renewed her strength.
Mary Anne wished for this to be her last message: "Until we meet again, remember me with joy and laughter for that's the way I remember you all. If you can only remember me with tears and sorrow don't remember me at all. Think about it, to be in the presence of the Lord, my happy place couldn't get any happier, how awesome is that?!"
Mary Anne is survived by her adoring husband Wade, her brother John Gray, her sister Candace Williams, and her children, Shane Ferguson and family, Amanda Anderson and family, Suzanne Williams and family, and Kelli Schoen.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, at 1:00 pm, First Baptist Church Holly Hill, 8455 Old State Road, Holly Hill, SC 29059. The family's wish is to flood the front of the church with flowers for the flower girl. Please send all flower donations directly to First Baptist Church Holly Hill
