Maria Reyna Obituary

Maria G. Reyna, age 91, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 19, 2025, in Harlingen, Texas.
Born on November 13, 1933, in McAllen, Texas, to Francisco and Amelia Limon, Maria lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a beloved friend to many.
Maria was married to her husband, Urbano Reyna, Jr., for 54 wonderful years. Together they built a strong, loving home where laughter, music, and faith flourished. They especially cherished dancing together in their living room, often to the sounds of Spanish Christian music that filled their hearts and home.
Maria retired from Levi Strauss after many years of hard work and dedication. Outside of work, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life: cooking traditional meals, sewing, spending time with her loved ones, and visiting the beach. She was a long-time, faithful member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, where she sang joyfully in the choir for many years.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Urbano Reyna, Jr.; one cherished grandson, Urbano Reyna IV; and nine siblings.
Maria is survived by her five devoted children: Rolando Reyna of San Diego, California; Urbano Reyna III (Susana) of Harlingen; Alfredo Reyna of Dallas; Jorge Reyna (Lisa) of Kentucky; and Elena Amelia Buitron of Harlingen. She also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, with a chapel service beginning at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Deacon Catarino. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in La Feria, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Rolando Reyna, Urbano Reyna III, Jorge Reyna, Urbano Reyna, Ruben Reyna, and Aldo Reyna.
Maria's enduring love, strength, and spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the blessing of knowing her.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.
