Marguerite Reid Obituary

Marguerite Harley Reid (Ree), 77, of Little River, SC, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at her home in Summerville, SC. Born on April 8, 1948, in Bayonne, NJ, Ree lived a life brimming with warmth, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her. Ree dedicated much of her professional life to an accounting firm, where her sharp mind and meticulous nature earned her the respect of colleagues and clients alike. Yet, it was her passion for photography that truly defined her spirit. Ree found joy in capturing the fleeting beauty of beach scenery, vibrant sunsets, and the graceful movements of birds. As an active member of the Birders group, she cherished moments spent with friends, sharing stories and marveling at nature's wonders. Known for her loving personality, boundless generosity, and quick wit, Ree brought light to every room she entered. Her humor and kind heart left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas Michael Reid of Blue Ridge, SC, with whom she shared countless cherished memories. Ree is survived by her three sons, Cory Jones, Dale Jones, Lyle Jones, and her beloved niece, Gale DeRiggi, who will carry forward her legacy. A celebration of Ree's life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Chapman's Dachshund Rescue in York, SC. Ree's vibrant spirit and joyful lens on life will forever inspire those who knew and loved her.
