Malvenia Stewart Obituary
Malvenia Patricia Frazier Stewart, a daughter of the late Levi and Ruth Husser Frazier, was born on February 28, 1948 in Ridgeville, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 26, 2025 after a long visit by her husband, their three sons, a grandson and other close family members.
Pat, as she was lovingly called, received her formal education in the Charleston County School System. She graduated from Burke High School in 1966. She worked at Roper Hospital while attending high school and enrolled in the Roper School of Nursing where she obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing degree (LPN).
She worked at Roper Hospital until she met and married the love of her life, Edward L. Stewart, who was in the United States Air Force. She worked at Navoto General Hospital while he was stationed in Navoto, CA, until the birth of their first son. She traveled with her husband visiting several countries and across the United States, including the United Kingdom, South Carolina, Arizona,and New York. To this union was born three sons (she always referred to them as, "my boys") Donovan Edward, Darryll Erick, and Derek Evan. She served as a Sunday School teacher in the Air Force Base chapels where they were stationed. She was always involved in her children's schools as a volunteer and/or teacher assistant.
After her husband retired, and they moved to Ladson, SC, Pat worked for a few years as a private duty nurse. She was an avid reader and loved crossword puzzles and word search books.
Pat leaves to cherish her fond memories: her devoted husband Edward Stewart of the home; three sons, Donovan (Patricia) Stewart of Montpelier, VT; Darryll (Natasha) Stewart of Tomball,TX;
and Derek Stewart of Ladson, SC; three grandchildren, Harley (Amber)Therrien of Barre, VT; Cayden Stewart of Montpelier, VT; Destiny Stewart and Aaron Stewart of Tomball, TX; one great-grandchild, Ryland Therrien; two sisters Joyce F. Jennings of Charleston, SC; Doris F. Williams of Harrisburg, PA; Sisters-in-law Brenda (Granville) Peterson of Lake City,FL; Linda Stewart and Nora Stewart of Baton Rouge, LA; Brothers-in-law Nathan Stewart,Raymond Stewart, and Johnnie Stewart of Baton Rouge, LA; her Aunt, Eliza Husser Cave of Bath, SC; two nieces Sharvette J. Slaughter (Stephan) of Hanahan, SC; Dawn Frazier of Bel Aire, MD; grandnieces/nephews DaVon, D'Auntae, Justice, Taylor, Sydni, Stephan. In addition, she leaves a host of relatives and friends. She was predeceased by a sister, Fredericka D. Frazier.
