Hal Cheers Obituary

Hal Steven Cheers, 81, of Shallotte, NC, died Friday, October 17, 2025.

Steve was born in Brunswick County, NC, on November 3, 1943, a son of the late Rotha Cheers and Dixie Holden Cheers. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his nephew, Brandon Cheers.

He retired from International Paper Company as an equipment operator. Steve was a 1962 graduate of Shallotte High School where in his senior year he was voted most talented. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed playing the guitar, and was a car enthusiast. Steve, a pilot of lightweight airplanes, enjoyed flying.

Surviving are his son, Jay Cheers; daughter, Stephanie Fulcher; two grandchildren, Breanna and Brittany; brothers, Phil Cheers (Jean) and Jerry Cheers; nieces and nephews, Kimberly Cheers, Jennifer Delgado-Cheers, April Cheers and Wendell Cheers.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte Chapel.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Inurnment will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Shallotte.
