I did not know Carol but, after reading this obit memorializing her, I wish I had. I am an avid obit reader. My feeling is if someone took the time to write such beautiful sentiments about the person, it's a well-deserved read. Typically it is the photo or the first few lines that draw me in. I don't read them all. But, my husband and I lost our daughter several years ago and I think that did it for me. For Carol, it was that picture of her on the beach that told me I had to read it. Such a life well lived and such warmth and love returned to her; you can tell she did a great job living her life!
I loved her story as told by a loved one.

Dear Jeff,
I was deeply saddened to learn of Carol´s recent passing. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
I hope your loss is tempered in the coming days by the rich memories and experiences of your life together, and the touch of Carol´s sweet spirit. I respected Carol as a loving and attentive mother, a caring friend, a patient and attentive teacher, and a lady with style, quiet confidence, and genuine kindness. All who knew her were graced, indeed, by this special hitchhiker ...
With deep respect,

Hard to lose a close friend of 50+ years. Carol was such a loving part of Margaret's and my life. She'll always remain in our hearts. Jeff was a tower of strength and comfort for her throughout her struggles these past few years. Our thoughts are with Jeff, Leslie and Brian, along with other family members. Carol, thank you for all of the joy and shared memories. Scott and Margaret Terrall
