Lillie Campbell Obituary

Lillie Jean Hutson Campbell, 88, wife of the late Paul William Campbell, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

Funeral Services were held on Monday, April 10, 2023 at Dorchester Memory Gardens.

Lillie was born in Cheraw, South Carolina on December 17, 1934. She was the daughter of John Ivory Hutson and Olive Queen Polson Hutson.

She was a retired federal employee with Dorn VA Hospital, Columbia, SC in the Respiratory Therapy Department. Lillie did volunteer work at numerous places throughout her life. She loved all animals and collected dolls. Most of all she loved the Lord and loved her family.

Lillie is survived by two daughters, Paula Hanson Arrington (Philip) of North Charleston and Lisa Queen Wilson (Jarrett Long) of Summerville; one son-in-law, Ronald Wilson of Summerville; four grandchildren, Robert A Hanson (Jamie), Jacob D. Wilson (Marcie), Selina Rockwood (Josh), Kyle Campbell; one great-grand daughter, Summer S. Hanson; her brother Windred Shankle (Margaret) Rockingham, NC; her sister Lucille Bennett, Hamlet, NC as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Lillie is preceded in death by per parents, John Ivory Hutson and Queen Olive Polson Hutson; Carrie Dee Hutson; son, John E. Campbell; sister, Lois Taylor and brother Arey T. Shankle.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, Lutheran Homes of South Carolina, 1885 Rifle Range Road #46, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude for the love and care shown to both Mr. and Mrs. Campbell during their time at White Oak Manor.
