K. Fisher Obituary

K. Roy Fisher, 77, of Forest, VA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, surrounded by his family at his residence. He was the loving husband of Doris Elaine Hartman Fisher for 57 years.

Born on March 22, 1948, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Keating Dean Fisher and Janet Sayers Flynn.

Roy was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a graduate of the Institute of Textile Technology in Charlottesville, VA, where he received his Master's Degree. He was a retired Quality Assurance Manager with BGF Industries, having worked in the textile industry for 55 years. He enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, including destinations such as China, Paris, Israel, and Germany, but his favorite place was Disney World. He was a longtime member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, Gideons International, enjoyed genealogy, and was a train enthusiast. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his memory, three children, Marlis (George) Hunter of Fredericksburg, VA, Reagan (Mark) Wyssbrod of Salem, VA, and Whitney (Ryan) Miller of Bath, NC; six grandchildren, Sydney Hunter, Preston Hunter, Jackson Hunter, Benjamin Hunter, Lawrence Wyssbrod and Julia Wyssbrod; one great-grandchild; two siblings, Chris (Katie) Fisher of St. Lucie, FL and John (Tish) Flynn of Collegeville, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Roy's Life will be held on September 13th at 10 am at the gravesite at Virginia Memorial Park in Forest, VA, by Dr. James Borland of Thomas Road Baptist Church.
