Judy Grimm Obituary
Judith "Judy" Kay Grimm, age 88, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025.
Born on February 28, 1937, to Henrietta and Marvin Knecht, Judy was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Arthur Grimm; her cherished son, David Arthur Grimm; her grandson, John "Jack" Robert Grimm; her parents; and her brother, Donald Knecht.
Judy is survived by her loving children, Robert (Michelle) Grimm and Julie (Rich) Griffin; her beloved daughter-in-law, Nancy Grimm (wife of David); her adored grandchildren Michael, Kelsey, Sara, Matthew (Brooke), Ryan, Meghan Grimm, Connor, and Mackenzie Griffin; her great-grandchildren Owen, Holden, and Audrey; and her step-grandchildren Dominic and Jayden, all of whom brought her pride and joy.
After retiring from Warren Community Schools alongside her husband Ron, Judy returned to her roots and settled in her family home on Harsens Island. There, she found peace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life-reading, working crossword puzzles, swimming, and enjoying nature. She spent her winters in Florida, soaking up the sunshine and staying active. Judy was a gifted and passionate painter whose beautiful artwork reflected her creative spirit and attention to detail.
She was a beloved member of her neighborhood card club, sharing decades of laughter and friendship with her dear friends for over 50 years. Judy was also part of a cherished group known as the Ladybugs, with whom she enjoyed many special activities and meaningful connections.
Judy loved spending time with her family, especially during summers on the island. She also had a special love for ladybugs-she collected them, wore them, and delighted in spotting them wherever she went. To those who knew her, the ladybug became a small but powerful symbol of her bright spirit and joy for life.
Judy's warmth, sharp wit, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the memories she helped create.
The funeral service for Judith will be on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM, with visitation starting at 9:00 AM at A. J. Desmond & Sons, 2600 Crooks Road, Troy, Michigan 48084.
