Jack Langenstein Obituary

Jack Lee Langenstein Jr. (July 12, 1955 – August 21, 2025) Technical Sergeant Jack Lee Langenstein Jr, 70 of Summerville, SC Died on August 21, 2025. He was Born in Hagerstown MD in 1955 to Jack Sr and Nancy Jean Langenstein. Jack attended Bonds-Wilson High School in North Charleston SC before joining the United States Air Force. A proud veteran, Jack, served in the Air Force, attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant before his retirement in 1992. He served in the Security Police unit at Barksdale AFB, LA, Security Police Unit at Anderson AFB Guam, and Security Police Unit at Ellsworth AFB SD where he served in support of Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. While serving His country, He earned Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit award with Oak leaf Cluster, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service medal, Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon and Air Force Longevity Service Award with Two Oak Leaf Clusters. Jack was proud to have done his duty to help defend the freedom of citizens across this country, He was also a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars for several years. Jack Left the service and returned to Summerville South Carolina in 1993 with his wife Arlene whom he was married to for 33 years. Jack worked for Lieber Correctional Facility for 16 years and retired in 2010. Jack had a passion for Music, playing guitar, Golf, his Family and He loved his Clemson Tigers and Atlanta Braves Baseball as much as he did his Dallas Cowboys Football. Jack had an ability to bond with anyone around him. He loved people, loved his dog Maxx and spending time with his Family. Jack is Survived by his Wife Arlene, Sons KC Langenstein (Starr) of Denver NC, Jared Langenstein (Theresa) of Sioux Falls SD, Dennesa Linder of Summerville SC, Chris Richey (Heidi) of Casper Wy, Melisa Burdock of Alberta Canada, Grand Children Mavric Langenstein, Tristan Langenstein, Bree Langenstein, Landon Langenstein, Ashley Langenstein, Mikayla Hockman, Tony Burdock, Khailnn Burdock, Sean Burdock, Christian Burdock, Jessie Burdock, Preston Linder and Great Grand Children Cleo Langenstein, Cody Langenstein and Ella Linder. He is Preceded in Death by Mother Nancy Jean Langenstein
