Paul Summerour Obituary

Paul Henry Summerour, 84, of Panama City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

Born on July 26, 1941, in Lumpkin County, Georgia, Paul lived a remarkable life filled with hard work, adventure, and passion.

For more than 50 years, he owned and operated Summerour Lamps in Charlotte, NC, where his dedication and craftsmanship left a lasting mark on the furniture industry. His career also allowed him to work in the furniture market nationwide, building friendships and professional relationships that he greatly cherished.

A man of great energy and determination, Paul was an avid traveler who explored the world, journeying to destinations such as China, Japan, Tibet, and throughout the United States. He also had a deep love for running, proudly completing 14 marathons, including the prestigious New York, Boston, and San Francisco marathons.

Paul will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, tireless work ethic, and zest for life.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Clarise Kerns; wife, Jenilea; sons, Michael Damon and John Wesley; siblings, George Allen, Ann Leonard, and Stanley Gary.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Eric Summerour; grandchildren, Michael (Sammi), Jacob, Kesley (Michael D), and Zachary; great grandchildren, Kaden Dipietro, Peyton Dipietro, Beckham Summerour, Miller Summerour, and Campbell Summerour. He is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Wilson Grove Baptist Church in Mint Hill, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association, or The American Cancer Society.
