Doris Carr Obituary

Doris "Janet" Carr, 90, of Summerville, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on August 23,2024, surrounded by her family.

Janet was born in Rome, New York to Norman and Arvila Hadlock of Lee County, New York. She married Edward G. Carr, and they raised five daughters: Robin Fralix (Ernie) of Summerville, SC, Bonnie Foley (Paul) of New Hartford, NY, Laurie Griffin (Bayne) of Perry, GA, Letcia Mullin of Rome, NY, and Deedrea Payne (Doug) of New Hartford, NY.

In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Ed; brother: Dennis Hadlock; and her sister: Cheryl Kistner. She is survived by her daughters, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and two sisters: Norma Fillipponi and Donna Mansfield.

She enjoyed reading, taking care of her beloved pets, country music and square dancing. She didn't hand out advice, but she was a great listener. To many she was more than a neighbor or friend she was considered family. Janet was a faithful employee of Sears Roebuckuntil her retirement.

Funeral arrangements for Janet will be private and The Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
