Deborah Paulson Obituary

Deborah Lee Paulson, 71, of Goose Creek, South Carolina passed away on July 13th, 2025, at Lowcountry Community Hospice House. She was the wife of James Martin Paulson, of Goose Creek. They shared 54 years of marriage together. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Rowena Chapman (Savage) and Roosevelt Mixson. She graduated from the University of South Carolina with a master's degree in business administration. She was employed as a Building and Codes Inspector and Business Licensing Official for the City of Hanhan for over 30 years. She was a member of Grace Fellowship Church in Goose Creek, South Carolina. She enjoyed reading romance novels, shopping every weekend with her family, traveling on vacation with her family and friends, and watching historical and crime documentaries. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, selflessness, and strong faith in God. She is survived by her mother, Rowena Chapman (Robert Chapman), her husband, James Paulson, her three children, Valarie Gibson (Shawn Gibson), Jennifer Lopez (David Lopez), Kelly Redwood, her eight grandchildren, Alexander Powell, Catherine Nagel (Justin Nagel), Justin Sales, Julie Smalls (Jordan Smalls), Mariah Navarro (Miguel Navarro), Olivia Lopez, Mary Lopez, Tyler Czerwinski, and her five great-grandchildren, Adrian Sales, Waverly Sales, Dalisay Smalls, Kailani Smalls, Leon Nagel. The memorial service will be held on August 10th, 2025, at three o'clock in the afternoon at Grace Fellowship Church located at 100 Kathryn Drive, Goose Creek, South Carolina 29445. Per Mrs. Paulson's final request there will be no viewing, as she is to be cremated.
