Dannie Powell Obituary

Dannie R. Powell of North Charleston (born in Paducah KY), age 74, passed away peacefully at home on September 18, 2025. He preceded his wife Linda of 45 years. Dannie was the father of three children Dennis Powell (deceased), Samantha Judy (Perry), and Jason Powell, along with eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was affectionately known as Poppy. Dannie was a Master Sergeant in the US Air Force and retired after 21 years. During his service he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal and multiple other honors. He returned to school and became a certified HVAC service technician until retirement. Dannie attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church for 38 years where he was active in the parish. He enjoyed target practice and animals. He loved the family dogs but making friends with any wild or tame animals in the neighborhood was always a treat.
