Annabelle Boles Obituary
Annabelle Manigault Boles, 85, departed this life peacefully on August 5, 2025, only three months after celebrating her 85th birthday with loved ones. Born on May 8, 1940, in the Rantowles area of Charleston, South Carolina, Annabelle was the beloved daughter of the late Edward and Lillian Manigault. She graduated from Baptist Hill High School and later pursued business and college courses, further equipping herself for a successful and impactful career. Annabelle's Christian journey began at a young age when she was baptized and dedicated her life to Christ at Mt. Olivet Reformed Episcopal Church. It was there that her spiritual foundation was laid and her commitment to living a Christ-centered life took root. While living in New York, Annabelle became a devoted member of the International Christian Center, where she worshiped faithfully for many years. She embraced the spiritual offerings of the church and ensured her children were actively involved in that Christian community. The fellowship, support, and shared faith she experienced there brought her deep comfort and sustained her through both joyful and trying times. Annabelle remained steadfast in her walk with Christ-demonstrating kindness to others, offering help wherever it was needed, and studying God's Word daily as part of her personal growth and spiritual discipline. She believed in being one of God's helpers, living out the scripture found in Galatians 6:2: "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ." Through her faith, service, and unwavering love for others, Annabelle was a true reflection of Christ's light in the lives of those around her. She eventually relocated to North Carolina, where she spent the final 16 years of her life surrounded by peace, family, and reflection - until she was called to eternal life in heaven. Annabelle dedicated 27 years of service to MetLife as an accountant, where she was admired for her unwavering commitment, strong work ethic, and warm demeanor. She earned her LOMA insurance certification, a mark of her professional excellence and determination. She retired in December 1994 at the age of 52 and never had to work again - how inspiring! She left behind a legacy of achievement and lasting friendships. She was formerly married to the late Eugene Boles, and together they raised two daughters who were the pride and joy of her life: Ronniella Boles, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, and Natasha Boles, born in Brooklyn and raised in Staten Island, NY. Annabelle poured her love into her family, offering guidance, strength, and unwavering support. Annabelle enjoyed staying active and was passionate about maintaining her health, regularly going to the gym to stay fit. She also loved visiting the casino, where she had fun playing the slot machines and socializing with others. A talented cook and baker, Annabelle took great pride in preparing cakes, pies, and cookies for her family and friends - especially on birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. Her kitchen was a place of joy, filled with sweet aromas and loving hands. In addition to baking, Annabelle was a skilled seamstress. She created beautiful quilts and custom outfits with care and creativity. She also enjoyed crocheting, making blankets, hats, and scarves as thoughtful gifts for friends and family. Each piece she made was wrapped in warmth and love. Annabelle was known for being direct and to the point - never one to sugarcoat, yet always led by love, honesty, and sincerity. Her sharp wit and vibrant sense of humor made her a joy to be around, often lighting up a room with her spirited sayings and playful nature. She carried a natural optimism through life's ups and downs and nurtured those around her with quiet compassion and wisdom. A generous mentor, Annabelle readily shared her experience and insight with anyone willing to learn. One of her favorite sayings was, "I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but this is what I would do if it were me." This phrase offered wisdom with gentleness, helping others see things more clearly. She was a true matriarch, teacher, and loyal friend - always ready to lend an ear, offer advice, or simply be present when someone needed her. Her ability to balance strength and empathy made her a constant source of support for both family and friends.
