Joe Blazer Obituary

JOE MORRIS BLAZER, 82, of Chesapeake, OH, passed away on February 15, 2026, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV. Born on May 21, 1943, in Huntington, he was the son of the late Forrest Glenn and Betty Mildred Wilkes Blazer.
Joe was a retired electrical engineer for AK Steel and was a proud Airforce Veteran and Ohio Air National Guard who served during Desert Shield-Storm. He was a member of Proctorville Masonic Lodge #550 F&AM and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Cincinnati. Joe was also a 1960 - 1961 member of the Fairland Dragons Untouchables Basketball Team, and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Huntington. Joe enjoyed being a commercial pilot.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Blazer; sisters-in-law, Lana McGlynn of Cary, NC, and Jane (Brian) Gilkerson of Flatwoods, KY; brother-in-law, Chuck Eubanks of Greensboro, NC, and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville, OH, with Father David Johnston, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at 8 a.m. at the funeral home. Mausoleum Entombment will follow funeral services at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, WV.
