William Mobley Obituary

William "Al" Mobley, beloved husband, father, loving "Papa", and treasured friend passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025. Born on July 18, 1954, in Richmond Virginia, Al was a son of the late William and Juanita Hawks Mobley. Al worked as a mechanic at Duke Energy for 41 years, building many lasting friendships. Outside of work, Al was an avid motorcyclist and a proud US Navy veteran. Left to cherish his memory is wife of 40 years, Dori Mobley; his son, Tyler Mobley; his daughter, Kaitlyn Williams (Jabo); six grandchildren, Keelin Grubbs-Mobley, Zymir Miles, Kayden Mobley, Keilaylee Coleman, Kamiiah Mobley, and Kaitrell Williams. He is also survived by a sister, Theresa Griffin (Mike); and brother, Tracy Mobley; nephews, Shawn Griffin (Camille) and Scott Griffin; great-nephews, Cameron, Brandon, and Sebastian Griffin; as well as his two canine companions, Khia and Khloe. In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by his nephew, Tony Griffin. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. "Fair winds and following seas" Friends are encouraged to share their favorite memories of Al with the family by clicking on the button labeled "Share A Memory".

I have many fond memories of our friendship and the times that we turned wrenches at Duke Power. I will always cherish the time that we spent together during our youth away from work riding our motorcycles. Al was always ready to have a good time.
May warm winds be at your back my friend.
