William Anderson Obituary

William Burton "Bill" Anderson, 77, of Greenville, SC, passed away on September 12, 2025. Born on March 12, 1948, in Greenville to Burton S. and Sylvia K. Anderson, Bill graduated from Clemson University in 1970 and went on to enjoy more than 30 years working with Cryovac in Duncan, SC. Bill was known for his intelligence, kindness, honesty, and selflessness. He loved hiking, biking, and fishing and found joy in music, bird watching, and collecting. His family and friends will remember him for his gentle spirit and deep curiosity about the world around him. Bill is survived by his brother, Allen Anderson; sister, Standish Price; daughter, Jennifer Hudson; and grandchildren, Chase, Adeline, and Alexis Hudson. He was predeceased by his parents; and his beloved daughter, Amanda Argow. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown, 639 North Main Street, Greenville, SC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Sierra Club, by mail, Sierra Club Commemorative/Memorials, 2101 Webster Street, Suite 1300, Oakland, CA 94612 or National Public Radio, https://www.npr.org/donations/support. Bill's life was a gift, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him. Friends are encouraged to share their favorite memories of Bill with the family by clicking on the button labeled "Share A Memory".
