Wilbur Freeman Obituary

Wilbur Jean Freeman, 93, beloved wife of Bruce L. Freeman, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Born in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Mary Springfield Hester. Jean was a devoted member of Reedy River Baptist Church for over 90 years. She had a generous heart and cared deeply for others, loving without limits. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother, roles she cherished above all else. She loved the Lord, her church, and her family with all her heart. If you knew Jean, you loved her. Her legacy of faith, love, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by son, Brent Freeman; granddaughter, Mari Kate Picow (Brandon); granddaughters, Jordan Freeman, Cassidy Freeman, and Carly Freeman; great granddaughter, Lily Picow; daughter-in-law, Susan Freeman; and sister-in-law, Kaye Freeman. She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Martin Freeman and cousin, Rosemary Plumblee. A visitation will be held Monday, August 18, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel.
