Wesley Robinson Obituary

Wesley Merle "Bunker" Robinson, Sr.
Spartanburg, SC
Wesley Merle "Bunker" Robinson, Sr., age 69, of Spartanburg, passed away on April 19, 2025, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Born on March 30, 1956, in Berlin, New Hampshire.
Wesley lived a life marked by resilience, devotion to family, and an enduring love for sports and community.
Wesley proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard, enlisting in 1976 and serving for six years. His commitment to service reflected the strength of character that defined his life. In both his personal and public life, Wesley was known for being supportive, kind, funny, lovable, and friendly-qualities that endeared him to all who knew him.
He shared a devoted marriage with his wife, Laura Robinson, and was a loving father to daughters Heidi Boyd and Sheila Hart, and son Wesley Robinson Jr. He welcomed into his family sons-in-law Jarod Boyd and Kris Hart, and daughter-in-law Jessi Bird-Robinson. Wesley took immense pride in his grandchildren: Michael and his wife Chelsea, Kayla Boyd, Ethan and Emily Hart, Mason Hurley, Jayden, Elizabeth, Noah, Jerri, Kensington Bird, and Jonah Bird-Robinson, on the way. His joy was complete when watching them play sports or perform in artistic events-moments he cherished deeply.
Wesley is also survived by his brother Linwood Robinson and sister-in-law Kathleen. In a profound act of love and sacrifice emblematic of their bond, Linwood donated a kidney to Wesley in 2001-a gift that extended Wesley's life and allowed him more precious time with those he loved. He is fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his father Merle Robinson and mother-in-law Lea Trempe.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Robinson, on August 3, 2017, and his father-in-law, Roger Trempe Sr., on July 27, 2019.
A passionate fan of New England sports teams-including the Patriots, Celtics, Red Sox, and Bruins-as well as NASCAR drivers Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliott, Wesley found joy in cheering on his favorite teams. Whether it was game day or race day, he brought enthusiasm and spirit to every moment.
Despite facing significant health challenges later in life-including the loss of his left leg-Wesley remained steadfastly positive. He fought through adversity with courage and grace. His unwavering support for those around him never faltered; he was always there when needed most.
Funeral Services will be at 12 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the Stribling Funeral Home, located at 118 W Main Street in Duncan, South Carolina 29334.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM to 12 PM, prior to the service.
Interment will be held at Boiling Springs Memorial Garden on Highway 9 in Boiling Springs, South Carolina 29316.
Wesley's legacy lives on through the love he gave so freely and the strength he showed so consistently.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
