Wayne Underwood Obituary

Arvel Wayne Underwood, 75, passed away November 1, 2025. A native of Spartanburg County, South Carolina, son of the late Lindsey and Dorothy Brown Underwood, he was a 1968 graduate of Greer High School and a 1992 inductee into the Greer High School Athletic Hall of Fame, a retired employee of Tractor Supply, the owner and operator of City Body Shop and A-1 Import Salvage of Greer, and a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Geraldine Clayton Underwood of the home; two sons, Steven Underwood and Clayton Underwood (Tabitha) both of Campobello, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Emily, Emery, Ella, Cayleigh, and Triston; and two great-grandchildren, Cason and Juliana. Mr. Underwood was predeceased by a brother, Broadus Underwood and two sisters, Charlene Cole and Teresa Underwood. Visitation will be held 6:00-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Dr. Tim Clark and Rev. Ben Whitmire. The family will be at the home.
