Wallace Turner Obituary

Wallace Earl Turner, 91, beloved husband of the late Jean Turner, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Born in Greenville, SC, Wallace was the son of the late Earl and Louise Wade Turner. He was a proud graduate of Travelers Rest High School and the longtime owner of Berea Insurance Agency, where he served his community with dedication and integrity. A lifelong member of Parisview Baptist Church-formerly Union Bleachery, Wallace was deeply involved in church life. He served faithfully as a deacon for many years and cherished the fellowship of his church family. His unwavering faith and devotion were central to his life. Wallace was a loving husband and a devoted father, known for his strong work ethic, deep faith, and steadfast family values. He was a man of great character whose kindness and strength touched the lives of many. He will be forever missed, but his legacy of love, service, and faith will continue to live on in all who knew him. He is survived by son Wallace Turner, Jr.; brothers Houston Turner (Geraldine) and Ronald Turner (Becky); niece, Sherri Turner Price; and nephews, Matthew Turner and Steve Smith. In addition to his beloved wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Janette Smith. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 6, at 3:00 p.m. in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, with entombment to follow. My sympathy goes out to the family I knew Wallace mostly as an insurance agency and was in Classes with Wallace Turner Jr (we called him Wally back then) at BereaMiddle School. I know Houston from Church and Houston also at one time served as our mail carrier. I also know Sherry from Church at Berea First Baptist. Sorry to hear of the passing of Wallace Sr. I did not know that Wallace´s wife had also passed I remember her from the insurance agency as well as from her time at WALLY DOGS. My prayers and my sympathies go out to the family.

Wallace Turner was a man who forever had an impact on my life .he was my teacher at church but he also taught me something huge in life. WE were warming up for a basketball game and I took my warm up jacket off and underneath was a Miller high life tshirt. Wallace did not embarrass me but pulled me aside and said Kyle that tshirt might not be pleasing to the Lord. He was a man of character integrity and honor...and I am better in life because of him.

I met Mr. Turner through Waterstone memory care while visiting my grandmother. He was the kindest man. I always made sure to check on him while I was there. My grandmother died the day after Mr. Turner. I will never forget my short time with him.
