Vida Landers Obituary

Vida Grubbs Landers, wife of Albert Lee Landers, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17th 2025 at her home. Born in Greenville Sept. 23rd 1928, she was the daughter of the late Perry Grubbs and Ida Davis.
Vida was a graduate of Parker High School and worked as a secretary of Eastlan Baptist church where she retired after 23 yrs of service. A respected member of Eastland until her passing, she led many women's groups and mission trips abroad.
Surviving is her son Ollin Landers. Vida was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Albert Lee Landers; brother, Joseph Darryl Grubbs; son, Thomas W. James; step-daughters; Linda Barnett, Barbara Burch and Sandra Landers; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the Bon Secours Health System, the physicians and staff at Bon Secours Hematology & Oncology, and especially Reed A. Mathias, M.D. for their dedication to providing care to Vida. The family would also like to offer a special thank you to the staff and employees of Always Best Care, Maplebrook Retirement Center and Patriot Hospice for their excellent care during her later years.
