Vermal Moore Obituary

Jacksonville, Florida Mrs. Vermal Wood Moore was born on January 18, 1940, in Greer, South Carolina. She was called home to Glory on May 19, 2025. Vermal is the 3rd daughter of the late Cecil and Vera Wood. She is survived by her husband, Ellison M. Moore, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; three sons. Chet (Swilla) T. Moore of New London, CT, Brent (Sylvia) E. Moore of Minneola, FL and Darrell G Moore of Lakeland, FL; seven grandchildren, Chet T. Moore, Jr., Camisha Moore, Alicia M. Moore, Brent E. Moore, Jr., Chancellor A. Moore, Autumn N. E. Moore and Madison Moore; goddaughter, Gwen Beauford and god children, James Carroll and Briana Beauford; siblings, Katherleen Thomas, Patricia Robinson, Patrick (Shirley) Wood, Teresa (John) Paden and foster sister Marilyn Fuller; along with a host of other Wood and Daniels family in Greer, SC. She was preceded in death by Clara Ballenger, Yvonne Sherman and Cecil Wood, Jr., Vermal was a vibrant member of the church community in Jacksonville, FL. She attended Robert Mt. Pisgah A.M.E. until her retirement from serving circa in 2015. She also continued to support the family home church of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Greer, SC until her final days. Vermal was a strong spiritual woman with traditional and progressive expressions of Grace, Service and Convictions in her daily walks with the Lord. She enjoyed her life in service of others, sacrificing her own dreams and happiness for the Good of all who touched her life and for the lives she touched. She was a true inspiration of what a Daughter, a Mother, a Sister and a Wife should Exhibit in this World Today. Her physical and Spiritual connection will be forever missed. A GREAT Woman Died Today Funeral service will be Friday, May 30, 2025, 11:00 AM at Wesley Chapel UMC with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Public viewing will be Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Sullivan Bros. Mortuary Chapel. Please keep the Wood-Moore family in your prayers.
