Tony Waters Obituary

Anthony Harold "Tony" Waters, 75, passed away August 13, 2025. A native of Greenville County, South Carolina, son of the late James Harold Hodge and Betty Harvey Waters, he was a retired electrician of 40 plus years. Prior to retirement he also worked as a construction manager for Bill Clark Homes in Myrtle Beach. After retirement he spent the majority of his time working on his Model A's, conversing with his buddies at Bruce's Body Shop, and helping his son-in-law at the cabinet shop. He never failed to support his grandchildren at all of their sporting events. He also loved singing and was a member of Praise Cathedral. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Kay Garrett Waters of the home; four children, Mandi Harrington Garrett (Tony), Matthew Bradley Waters (Carol), Angela Waters Raines (Michael), Jeremy Chad Harrington (Kristi) all of Greer, South Carolina; three sisters, Cynthia Waters Woodruff (Skipper) of Greenville, South Carolina, Cathy Waters Sanders (John) of Pickens, South Carolina, and Susan Waters Dillard (Franky) of Greer, South Carolina; eight grandchildren, Jake Garrett (Kristen), Jeremy Garrett (Lindsay), Konner Raines (Emma Kate), Ava Raines, Malena Waters, Mia Waters, Cooper Harrington, and Greyson Harrington; and two great-grandchildren, Landon Garrett and Colson Garrett. A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m., Saturday August 23, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel with webcasting available, conducted by Pastor Jerry Madden and Dr. Tommy Harvey. Visitation will be held 2:00-3:45 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary.
