Suzanne Gebhart Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Suzanne Spurgeon Gebhart of Simpsonville, South Carolina, who departed this world on August 15, 2025. Born on September 22, 1945, in Columbia, Missouri, Suzanne lived a life devoted to educating and supporting others, leaving a lasting mark on her community as a beloved teacher and counselor in public education. An alumna of Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, where she studied political science, Suzanne was a strong advocate for her students and their well-being. Her compassion and dedication extended beyond the classroom, as she cherished her family and friends deeply. She is survived by her loving spouse, Robert Gebhart; her children, Kristen Gebhart Magee (James) and Andrew Gebhart (Virginia); and her treasured grandchildren, Alexander and Thomas Magee. Suzanne was a vibrant spirit who found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for her dogs was evident in her daily routines, as she often delighted in their companionship. She also had a passion for puzzles, spending countless hours immersed in crossword, jigsaw, and Sudoku challenges, which brought her immense satisfaction and joy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, an organization close to Suzanne's heart. Suzanne's warmth, intelligence, and kindness will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love and education will continue to inspire those left behind.
